We hope all farmers are coping with Storm Ciara, but even the well-maintained buildings can suffer from storm damage, so if you are asking yourself some of the following questions, keep reading to find out what you can do to keep you and your business safe.

If your contractor has 5 or more employees, they must do/provide everything on the list below:
- A copy of a signed Health and Safety Policy
- Evidence of first aid arrangements and training equipment
- Any reportable accidents in the last 5 years
- Any HSE improvement notices/ prohibitions in the last 5 years
- Any convictions for offences under H&S legislation in last 5 years
- Evidence of procedures used to ensure plant, equipment and vehicles supplied to site are maintained in a safe condition. (Maintenance / Thorough Inspections LOLER/PUWER 1998)
- Evidence of your company’s Safe Systems of Work process e.g. risk assessment, method statements, etc.
- Copies of Plant tickets / Licences.
- Evidence of site-specific inductions or toolbox talks. (If Applicable) This includes inductions given, Site inductions, Field maps etc.
- Evidence of employees with specific skills and/or proof of membership of professional bodies. Alternatively, how many years’ experience do they have? (if applicable)
- Company policy and rules on the wearing of PPE.
