The Future Farming Resilience Fund is designed to provide business support to farmers and land managers during the early years of the agricultural transition.
DEFRA plan to phase out direct payments in England over a seven-year agricultural transition period, running from 2021 to 2027. This approach has been designed to help claimants manage the phase out of direct payments as smoothly as possible, giving time for them to plan ahead.
Harvest time is one of the busiest and most demanding periods in the farming calendar. With long hours, heavy machinery, tight deadlines, and summer heat, the pressure can be intense for farmers and their families.
Defra has issued updated guidance on the application of organic manures this autumn with new rules placing much greater emphasis on planning and justification.
