Karen Powell has been approved as a consultant to provide professional one-to-one advice through the Farming Advisory Service. As funding of up to 70 to 90% of the costs are being met by the Farming Advisory Service, this is an ideal opportunity to gain advice and guidance on specialist topics that are specific to your farming business.
The following funding is available:
- One to one Technical Advice – 70%
- One to one Business Advice – 80%
- Group Technical Advice – 90%
The Farming Connect Advisory Service programme, which came into effect from 1st April 2023 is designed to support farmers in Wales over the next two years as they prepare to move to the new Sustainable Farming Scheme.
As part of this programme, the Advisory Service provides independent, bespoke, one-to-one advice targeted at improving the sustainability, economic and environmental performance of farming.
Specialist advice is available from CXCS on the following land topics:
• Grassland & crop management – includes agri pollution advice
• Carbon advice
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the one-to-one advisory sessions are as follows:
- all farming businesses with
- 3ha of registered land within Wales
- a Customer Reference Number (CRN)
- a Welsh County Parish Holding (CPH) number
- new entrants looking to meet the 3ha requirement within a 3 year period
- forest holders and specialist or niche farming systems or activities below the 3 ha threshold to a minimum of 0.5 ha on a case by case basis
