What do you do at CXCS?

  • Cross compliance administration
  • Cross compliance updates
  • Technical queries
  • Derogations
  • Carbon auditing

My role at CXCS is different each day. I currently work from home 3 days a week; I tend to spend those days on the phone to farmers updating their Cross Compliance records and getting all the relevant data ready for the admin team, as well as completing Carbon Audits and answering our farming clients’ technical queries. When in the office I help complete administration on Cross Compliance files, and then during the latter part of the year, I also spend time submitting Grassland Derogations for clients.

What do you like about working at CXCS?

I enjoy learning new things every day and testing my existing knowledge. Taking difficult queries and finding a solution is one thing that I find incredibly rewarding. I believe that our farming clients will never stop teaching me new things about agriculture and their practices, no matter how long I have worked and lived in the industry.

Another thing I love about my job is the relationship you develop with clients, when you visit or speak to clients over multiple years and also create the work that they see in their cross compliance files, they will remember you personally and not just the company name. A professional bond is created that I couldn’t compare to any other administrative jobs.

What’s your background?

Up until last year, I have always lived in Herefordshire. I was brought up in a family whose farming nature goes back many generations. The majority of my family still all farm in Herefordshire and are heavily involved in local faming groups such as YFC. I came to CXCS straight out of college and haven’t looked back since.

What are the values that drive you?

Compassion, respect & reliability

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I have not long moved out from the family home, so currently I am enjoying renovating my first home with family and friends. I also enjoy taking my Saint Bernard and Lab on long walks through the countryside. When I am not working and when the government finally allows us to again, I would like to try to travel as much as I can.
