What do you do at CXCS?
Since joining CXCS in 2014 I have gained a great deal of knowledge and experience which has enabled me to develop in many aspects of the business. My primary role is the management of the Basic Payment Scheme which I enjoy through the application months of March to May each year. Outside the application months, I am involved in ongoing client support and dealing with RPA queries and communications. When not working on BPS I get stuck into Cross Compliance which includes anything from visiting clients, conducting remote updates, producing records and quality control checking of completed folders. In more recent months I have become part of our newly launched Carbon Auditing Service. My involvement in this has been extremely rewarding, knowing that our clients are looking towards the future of farming and working with us to lower their carbon emissions.
What do you like about working at CXCS?
I enjoy working with clients to ensure all their agricultural compliance needs are met, particularly during BPS months where client communication is key to a successful application process. The appreciation I receive from clients makes my job very rewarding.
Over the years CXCS has continually developed and now offers an extensive range of services which include Cross Compliance, Basic Payment, Countryside Stewardship, Farm Assurance, HR, Health & Safety, Carbon Auditing, and IT Solutions. It is great to be part of a diverse company that is willing to expand into different areas to keep up with the requirements of the agricultural sector.
What’s your background?
Growing up on our family beef farm (located near the CXCS offices in Lyonshall), I always knew I wanted to work within the agricultural sector. Leaving school, I went on to study business and accounting and soon after became part of the CXCS Team.
What are the values that drive you?
Reliability, honesty, success
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with family and friends, weekend breaks and exploring the countryside with my Sprollie dog Ted.
