Meet the Team: Evie Price, Technical Advisor

Name

Evie Price

Company Role

Senior Technical Advisor

Favourite quote

“Be good to those on your way up, because you never know when you’ll meet them on your way back down!”

Your top 3 favourite Podcasts/Books?
  • Tess of the d’Urbervilles – Thomas Hardy
  • It shouldn’t happen to a Vet – James Herriott
  • All Creatures Great and Small – James Herriott

I enjoy the James Herriott books for their humour and likeness to my own job; especially the clients. Farming may have changed, but the characters have not!

What do you do at CXCS?

My role as Technical Advisor means I answer a variety of technical queries, giving advice on topics such as cross compliance regulations, stewardship and grants, and sheep and cattle movements. I also spend 2 to 3 days a week travelling around the country visiting clients, to update their cross-compliance folders.

What’s your Archetype?

The Wise Old Man – Stoic & Contemplative, wise but in no hurry.

What do you like about working at CXCS?

We all get on well as a team, and everyone works hard to provide a top-quality service, but my favourite part of the job has to be the clients. I thoroughly enjoy being out and about seeing different parts of the country, whilst meeting so many lovely people.

What’s your background?

I have been with CXCS for over 5 years, joining them at age 18, following completing my A Levels at Ludlow College. I’m a farmer’s daughter still living at home on our family beef and sheep farm, in South Shropshire. This has given me the background knowledge I need for my job.

What are the values that drive you?

Efficiency, Integrity, and all-round good customer service.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I’m an active member of Ludlow Young Farmer’s and enjoy socialising with friends from both in and out of YFC. I also love travel, reading, painting and drawing in my spare time.
