What do you do at CXCS?
My role at CXCS is incredibly varied. My duties differ throughout the year, correlating with various administrative deadlines within the farming calendar. For instance, between March and May I will be completing BPS applications (English and Welsh); May to August my time will be focused on drafting and submitting stewardship applications. I also complete client record updates and the administration on the files too. On client request, I provide nutrient recommendations using my FACTS qualification.
What do you like about working at CXCS?
I like the principle of my job, making life easier for farmers so they can go about their everyday duties, without having to worry about the vast amount of paperwork.
I love the progression and diversification of CXCS as a company. When I joined CXCS in 2013 there was one key service which was cross compliance – since then CXCS have branched out and developed a number of new services. It is good to be part of a company that is so innovative, adaptable, and willing to expand into different areas within agriculture where there is demand.
What’s your background?
I have for most of my life lived in and around Herefordshire. I have been lucky enough to have personal involvement in agriculture from an early age, with my grandparents farming close to Hay-on-Wye. However, I haven’t always worked within the agricultural industry and for a brief spell worked within retail management, which gave me the managerial skill set to apply to my role as part of the Management Team at CXCS.
What are the values that drive you?
Integrity, ambition, and professionalism.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I have a toddler, so most of my free time revolves around making memories with him as a family and enjoying new experiences together. I enjoy socialising with my friends and their little ones and occasionally manage to enjoy some social child free nights out too!
