The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI)

Their main aims: “We offer financial support, practical care and guidance to farming people of all ages, including farmers, farmworkers and dependants”
What they can help with:
- Buying essential white goods
- Arrange free debt advice
- Pay for relief farm staff if you’ve suffered an injury or illness
- Organise business appraisals
- Pay for training grants, to enable you to earn an additional off-farm income
- Clear domestic bills
- Help with rent / mortgage arrears
They not only help with short term issues, possibly caused by an accident or circumstance that has occurred on the farm, but they can also offer long term help with emotional and practical problems.

This National helpline is open everyday from 7am to 11pm to assist with items relating to:
- Animal Health
- Animal Welfare
- EID/BCMS/Animal passporting
- Arable farming
If these items are worrying you and you are struggling on your own, talk to one of their volunteers. A problem shared is a problem halved.
The Addington Fund

Based in Warwickshire, this group aims to help farmers through hardships caused by emergency situations. They specialise in Tenant farmers who are struggling to find suitable housing by using a scheme to buy property for successful applicants, which is then rented to them on a flexible agreement.

In extreme weather such as immense flooding they support farmers by providing them with items such as bedding and feed.
If you are struggling with your mental health, you do not have to go through hard times alone. Speak out, and you may be surprised who is willing to listen. Together the farming community can help break the stigma surrounding mental health.
