English & Welsh ‘Balance’ BPS Payments

English ‘Balance’ BPS Payments are due to be made from 1st December

This year marks the first year the English BPS payments have been paid in two installments for most claimants, with a 50% payment being made in July, and the remainder balance to be paid from December 1st 2022. Please note the 50% initial payment was 50% of how far the RPA had reached with processing your individual claim. This means the second installment is unlikely to be an exact mirror of your summer payment.

The format of part payments is set to be the ‘norm’ for the remaining years of the BPS subsidy.

A note to our BPS clients:

If your total claim value comes to less than expected, please wait until you receive a Payment Statement before getting in touch, as until we see the paperwork, we can’t be sure on how your figures have been calculated. Once we have the summary, we can reconcile the payments and make sure they total what they should from the application put in at spring 2022.

Remember, this is the second year of reduced payments, so your payment will be less than last year even though the payment rate has been left unchanged, as the % reduction is larger. The reduction on smaller claims starts at a 20% reduction.

Welsh ‘Balance’ BPS Payments are due to be made from 15th December.

It’s not the first year Wales have seen part BPS payments being made. This year part payments were made from 14th October and the top up is due from 15th December. Welsh farmers can expect to see a similar payment to their 2021 BPS total payment as no reductions have been made this year.

Again, if you are a BPS client of ours and wish us to check your total payment, please wait until you receive correspondence before getting in touch. As soon as we have the Payment Summary we can make sure you have been paid correctly.
