Red Tractor farm assurance schemes are assessed and certified by Certification Bodies. There have previously been three of these national bodies: NSF, SAI Global and Acoura (trading as LRQA).
Red Tractor have recently announced that one of those Certification Bodies, LRQA, is changing its business strategy. They have explained that a mutual agreement has been made between both parties, and that LRQA will cease to provide farm scheme certification for Red Tractor from December 2022. After this date, LRQA will be unable to renew membership or conduct any assessments.
This means that Red Tractor members who are currently certified with LRQA will need to transfer their membership to one of the other Red Tractor Certification Bodies.
If your farming business is certified by LRQA you should have received a letter from Red Tractor which explains these changes and provides details on what to do next. This letter will also include contact details for the alternative Certification Bodies you will need to approach to transfer your membership. The deadline for transferring your membership is 31st December 2022.
