Financial incentives to improve the environment
CXCS are experienced in completing a wide range of grant applications and are now taking on SFI24 applications. If you are interested in applying for an agreement, our Stewardship & Grants team are available to go through the scheme options with you and identify which actions could work for your farming business.
Countryside Stewardship in 2024
More than 50 simplified actions from CS Mid Tier will be merged into SFI to streamline the application process for farmers. From July, farmers and landowners will be able to access options currently available in CS Mid Tier through a single scheme.
A separate process will continue to operate for CS Higher Tier agreements, with agreements being offered through a simpler, clearer and faster service. Applications for Higher Tier will also be available through a rolling application window from late 2024, with agreements starting from Spring 2025.
Improvements to the application process will include:
Rolling applications so you can apply at a time that suits you
A clearer and faster process to develop and approve applications
Monthly agreement start dates, once your application has been developed and approved
Quarterly payments, so you’re paid in instalments rather than a single annual payment
More flexible, less prescriptive actions where possible
Applying for a CS Higher Tier Agreement
Once applications open later this year, our Stewardship & Grants team are available to go through the CS Higher Tier scheme with you to identify which options could work for your farm. If you then decide that you want to apply for an agreement, we can also complete and submit the application on your behalf.
