RPA & RPW Inspections
The Inspection
RPA (Rural Payments Agency) & RPW (Rural Payments Wales) inspections cover all aspects of regulation, and all land that is used to claim payment through the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS).
These inspections can be unannounced “on the spot”, or you may be given up to 48 hours’ notice.
Paperwork
A RPA / RPW inspector will arrive on your farm and go through a set of questions to determine the following:
- Farming practices
- Details about the farm and business
- Schemes the business is part of
- NVZ Records (if applicable) for more information on this, see our NVZ section here.
- Pesticide application records
- Invoices/ bills for one input and one output for the business
- Veterinary medicine records
- Livestock movement records including:
- Licences
- Passports
- Holding register
- Herd register
Farm Inspection
- Silage (pits and/or bales)
- Manure storage
- Slurry
- Other manures if within the yard
- Agricultural fuel storage
- Oil storage
- PPP storage
- Dairy chemical storage
- Vet meds storage
- The inspector will also bring copies of your latest maps, and walk all land claimed for BPS and/or any stewardship schemes, to compare the maps to the physical land & boundaries
