RPA release exchange rate of 2017 BPS payments | News | CXCS

A weak pound means better BPS for British farmers

The RPA have recently released the exchange rate of the 2017 BPS payments. The rate is an average of the European Central Bank exchange rates set in September.

2017: €1 = £0.89470

This is just under a 5% rise from the previous 2016 BPS payments which was £0.85228. If you claimed £20,000 last year you should expect to receive an extra £848.40 – as long as there are no land changes.

Previous exchange rates

  • BPS 2016: €1 = £0.85228
  • BPS 2015: €1 = £0.73129

The RPA state that full payments will begin at the begining of December and will be paid directly into bank accounts by BACS.
