There is a new simplified process for exemptions for cutting and trimming a hedgerow in August when sowing oilseed rape.

The Government has confirmed that they are fully committed to ELMs following the publication of a report by the NAO.

Applications are now open for the laying hen housing for health & welfare grant, which is available to laying hen and pullet farmers in England with flocks of 1,000 birds or more.

Delinked payments will be paid in two instalments each year – an advance payment of around 50% from the 1st of August, with the balance payment from the 1st of September.

New hedgerow management rules came into force in May 2024 in England. As part of this, the hedgerow management rules on buffer strips will apply from 1st July 2024.
