Funding Boost for Catchment Sensitive Farming and the EA

100% of farmed land in England will have access to Catchment Sensitive Funded support and advice, alongside government funding boosts for 50 more EA inspectors, in a bid to improve water quality in England.

The funding for the CSF programme will be increased to a new annual budget of £30m, up from £16.6m in 2020 / 21.

This means it will cover 100% of England’s farmland, up from 40% of its current coverage, with every farmer able to access advice and support by March 2023 to help them access a range of solutions to reduce pollution.

At CXCS we urge clients who are interested in any water quality items as part of the Countryside Stewardship scheme, to make contact with their local CSFO ahead of the next application window due to open in March 2022, to avoid disappointment or delays when applying next year.
