Cross Compliance – What’s New in 2022

There are no changes to the rules, but some changes have been made to the way cross compliance is run that you may benefit from. These include:

  • Improvements in the way farmers are communicated with following some cross compliance visits by RPA field officers
  • When assessing how severe a non-compliance is, where appropriate, it will be taken into account how you’ve engaged with the rules, any possible harm to the environment, or level of risk to public or animal health.

Full details can be found in Guide to cross compliance in England 2022

The rules set out in this guide apply for the whole of 2022. Therefore, you must meet the rules throughout the year if you claim for the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS), a stewardship scheme or the Farm Woodland Premium element of the English Woodland Grant Scheme (EWGS) in 2022.
