A recent update to the COVID-19 guidance on the Rural Payments Agency website states that there is a ‘phased return’ plan for on-farm visits and site inspections. This return to site visits began on 1st June and are based on business priority, starting with Countryside Stewardship and Environmental Stewardship inspections.
“To ensure we work within the regulations arising from COVID-19, we will adopt a revised approach to inspections, including the use of technology and remote inspections. We will also contact customers before a visit to find out if there are any issues we need to be aware of, including vulnerability, and we will follow social distancing rules at all times.”
