Apply for the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund | CXCS

UK Research and Innovation, through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, will invest up to £20 million in innovation projects. These must improve productivity and sustainability by developing enhanced decisions support, precision agriculture technology solutions and systems for crop and ruminant agriculture.

They are looking for projects that improve productivity and sustainability in crop and ruminant agriculture.

There is £20 million to be shared across 2 types of project:

  • productivity solutions, which develop a single intervention within a supply chain or production system
  • supply chain solutions, which develop multiple interventions across at least 3 parts of the supply chain, for example:
    • beef producers, beef processors and supermarket retailers
    • plant breeders, arable producers and food manufacturers

Projects should focus on one of 2 themes, to:

  • drive productivity and improve environmental outcomes in crop and ruminant production systems
  • develop new, highly efficient, high-value production systems that maximise productivity and improve environmental performance

 

Who is Eligible?

To be eligible for funding you must:
  • be a UK based business, academic organisation, charity, public sector organisation or research and technology organisation (RTO)
  • carry out your project work in the UK
  • exploit the results of your project anywhere in the world.
Depending on the size of your business, you can work alone or collaborate with others. Collaborations must include at least one SME. (Small and medium-sized enterprises)

When you start an application you will be prompted to create an account as the lead applicant or sign in as a representative of your organisation. You will need an account to track the progress of your application.
As the lead applicant you will be responsible for:
  • collecting the information for your application
  • representing your organisation in leading the project if your application is successful
