The NVZ grassland derogation 2023 application window is now open and runs for four weeks from 6th June to the 4th July 2023. Farm businesses with holdings within Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZs) are once again able to apply for a grassland derogation to increase their whole farm nitrogen limit to 250kg of nitrogen per hectare.
Applications must be made by telephoning the Environment Agency with the relevant information which can be found using the following link: Grassland derogations for livestock manure in nitrate vulnerable zones – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
