Helping you work safely
Farming is a hazardous occupation and can pose risks to the health and safety of you, your employees, and to any contractors or visitors that come onto your land. Managing health and safety is essential to assess the risks in your workplace, and to introduce procedures to control or reduce the risk.
By taking advantage of our cost-effective health and safety management packages, our specialist team can help you put a system in place which meets legal requirements and safeguards you, your employees, and your business.
WE CAN HELP YOU WITH
A risk assessment is an essential part of health and safety in any farming business. The process begins with an in-depth audit of the business to identify any risks to health and safety. From this audit, a detailed risk assessment is produced which assesses the level of risk, identifies what is already being done to control the risks, and highlights what further action needs to be taken.
To successfully implement and maintain the findings from a risk assessment, an action plan must be put into effect. Once a risk assessment has been carried out and the findings agreed, a prioritised action plan is produced which lists all the risks that need reducing. The action plan will form a working document (mostly used by you) where items should be ticked-off upon completion.
As part of our health and safety management package we provide bespoke policies and procedures which are developed in line with your risk management plan. At minimum this should include a written health and safety policy (if you employ five or more people), assessments of the risks to employees, contractors, customers, partners, and any other people who could be affected by your activities.
Carrying out a fire risk assessment is a legal requirement on all types of buildings (excluding domestic residential property) to ensure compliance in England and Wales with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Our expert advisors can conduct a fire risk assessment to identify potential risks and provide a clear breakdown of the remedial action required to improve your fire safety precautions.
Using chemicals or exposure to other hazardous substances at work can be extremely dangerous. By carrying out a dedicated COSHH risk assessment we ensure that you are taking all the necessary precautions whilst handling and storing substances hazardous to health. This includes substances that are used directly in work activities, substances generated during work activities, naturally occurring substances and biological agents.
