Pre-audit preparation
Our experienced staff provide advice and support on all aspects of joining and staying a member of the major schemes. This includes the preparation of documents for the audit procedure which creates a useful opportunity to highlight and resolve any problems ahead of the audit day. Our farm assurance advisors have attended numerous audits and are happy to liaise with the auditors on your behalf.
Pre-audit checks
Pre-audit checks are a key part of our service and are included within the annual fee. For an additional charge of £50 (plus expenses) we can attend an audit if requested. Please note that this service is also dependent on the availability of staff members.
Paperwork checks
All the relevant documents will be checked to ensure that they are up-to-date and presented in a way the Certification Body (CB) will accept. The following documents are just some of items we will check:
- Emergency plans
- Holding register/ herd register/ movement book
- Vermin risk assessment & baiting plan
- Fertiliser & pesticide inventories
- Waste management plans
- Waste tickets
- Training records
Farmyards checks
Our advisors are happy to have a telephone conversation prior to your audit to give advice on any potential areas of faliure. This could include:
- Accumulation of rubbish with a risk of contamination
- Inadequate feed storage areas
- Insufficient parlour maintenance
- Insufficient grain store maintenance
- Inadequate pesticide & chemical storage
