Change to Flexible Working Laws

From the 6th of April 2024, flexible working laws are changing for British businesses.

If you employ people, you will need to change how you manage flexible working requests. All employees will have the legal right to request flexible working from the first day of employment. This means that from day one, they can ask an employer for changes to how long, when and where they work.

Employees will also be able to make 2 requests in any 12-month period, rather than the current one request. You will be required to make a decision on the request within 2 months of receiving it.

Flexible working can be considered as a potential response in your risk assessments of stress. For example, it can mean changes to start and end times or working from home.
