Contracts of employment

A contract of employment is an agreement between an employer and an employee which sets out their employment rights, responsibilities and duties.

Whether you employ one person or have a large team of employees, you must provide each employee with a written statement of their terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the Employment Rights Act 1996.

As a minimum, a disciplinary and grievance procedure policy document in line with current UK employment legislation is required for all employees; for 5 employees and above, an absence & leave policy and a conduct policy is recommended.
