Grants at CXCS, explains what the grant can support, how much funding is available and what farmers need to consider before applying.<\/p>\n<h5>What can the Small Infrastructure Grant support?<\/h5>\n<p>Funding is available towards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Roofing over existing livestock feeding areas<\/li>\n<li>Roofing over existing livestock gathering areas<\/li>\n<li>Roofing over existing manure storage areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The area being roofed must have an existing concrete floor that is impermeable to water.<\/p>\n<p>The grant does not cover the creation of new manure stores, feeding areas or gathering areas, so if you have a project in mind, it is worth checking that the existing area meets the scheme requirements before applying.<\/p>\n<h5>How much funding is available?<\/h5>\n<p>The grant provides a standard cost contribution of \u00a340 per m\u00b2 of roof installed.<\/p>\n<p>The minimum grant award is \u00a33,000 per application, with a maximum of \u00a315,000 per applicant or agreement holder per financial year.<\/p>\n<p>More than one application can be made during the financial year, subject to the overall \u00a315,000 limit and the conditions of the scheme.<\/p>\n<h5>What do you need before applying?<\/h5>\n<p>Applications are made through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.wales\/login-rural-payments-wales-rpw-online\">Rural Payments Wales (RPW) Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to provide geo-tagged photographs to demonstrate the eligibility of the site, and it is worth checking at an early stage whether any permissions or approvals will be needed for the proposed work.<\/p>\n<p>It is also important not to purchase any items included in your application before you receive your Grant Award Letter.<\/p>\n<p>Checking the eligibility of your proposed project and gathering the necessary evidence before you apply can help avoid delays or problems with your application later.<\/p>\n<h5>More funding coming up<\/h5>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Further funding opportunities are also due to open in Wales, including the <strong>Infrastructure and Equipment Scheme<\/strong>, which is currently scheduled to open in <strong>October 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You can keep up to date with forthcoming schemes and application windows on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.wales\/rural-schemes-application-dates\">Welsh Government rural schemes application dates<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<h5>Thinking about applying?<\/h5>\n<p>If you have a Small Infrastructure project in mind, our Stewardship &amp;
