Key Dates England - BPS, CS & ES Schemes
Full list of farming key dates that you must follow to be compliant with BPS, Countryside Stewardship (CS) & Environmental Stewardship (ES) rules and regulations.
Key dates in 2023 for Basic Payment Scheme, Countryside Stewardship and Environmental Stewardship. Please note that these key dates are specifically for England. Key dates for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland may differ.
1. Basic Payment Scheme
- 1 December 2023 – 1 June 2024 RPA makes final BPS 2023 payment
2. Countryside Stewardship and Environmental Stewardship claim
- 14 March 2023: CS revenue claim declarations and ES revenue claims open
- 15 May 2023 (midnight): deadline for submitting a CS revenue claim declaration or ES revenue claim without reduction
- 31 May 2023 (midnight): deadline for making certain changes to a CS revenue claim declaration that was submitted before midnight on 15 May without receiving a reduction
- 31 August 2023 (midnight): deadline for submitting a CS revenue claim declaration or ES revenue claim (with reduction)
- CS and ES HLS Capital Claims: open for capital claims all year
3. Countryside Stewardship applications
Higher Tier
- 7 February 2023: applications open
- 28 April 2023: deadline for applications
- September 2023 to December 2023: agreement offers are sent out
Mid Tier and Wildlife Offers
21 March 2023: applications open
- 18 August 2023: deadline for applications
- September 2023 to December 2023: agreement offers are sent out
Open all year for applications from 3rd January 2024
